Growing up in a bilingual household helped shaped Maria’s perception of cultural norms and fostered her love of community. Her parents hosted Mid-Autumn celebrations with friends, and together, they’d feast on mooncakes and dumplings.

Call it a gut feeling, but Maria always knew that she wanted to pursue a career within the design industry. She taught herself Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator before enrolling in a design course. Afterwards, Maria moved laterally into full-stack development; mesmerised by the ability to bring her ideas to life through an interactive scrollable medium. 

After landing an internship at Psychoactive, Maria knew that she wasn’t interested in finding a job elsewhere. Existing within the realms of both disciplines fuelled her passions, and the opportunity to help build a business from the ground up allowed her to sink her teeth into the ultimate problem solving challenge.
